Are Disney & Nintendo Working Together To Make Movies?
There have been many rumours about Nintendo and Disney working together on projects for a while now, ever since Wreck It Ralph featured Browser from the popular Super Mario series. There have been rumours of them working together on movie and gaming projects. More rumours have surfaced recently following a presentation from Cisco which was analysing Hasbro and its competitors are working on, such as the Toys To Life category which includes Disney Infinity and Amiibo figures.
According to this presentation, which was created in 2015, it said that ‘Nintendo and Disney are coming together to create movies’. With discussion about a possible Wreck It Ralph sequel on the cards plus other projects, it doesn’t seem too far fetched and these movies could also be straight to home video or TV/Streaming movie.
Nintendo have recently worked with Disney on a Nintendo World Championships and Mario Kart TV special, plus many Disney video games have been exclusive to the Nintendo consoles like the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
However, there is the issue of Universal and Nintendo recently signing a deal to see new attractions built in its theme parks featuring the Nintendo characters, in direct competition with Disney’s own parks, would suggest these rumours are just that.
While Nintendo and Disney working together on projects isn’t too much of a stretch, there are many conflicts of interest which make projects much less likely.
