Will Marvel’s Netflix Series Be Delving Into The Supernatural?
With Marvel’s Agent Carter being cancelled and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off ‘Most Wanted’ not being picked up, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken a big blow when it comes to mainstream TV. If you are like me, then you cannot survive with just Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which just concluded its third season.
Lucky for us Marvel’s Netflix shows are a rousing success. With the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Netflix is proving to be a natural media forum for Marvel shows that may push the boundaries held by traditional TV. Following the next wave of shows, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Defenders, which all take place in Hell’s Kitchen, NY; a new rumor from Latino Review has a new wave of Marvel Heroes taking on a more supernatural element.
According to sources, Moon Knight, Blade, and Ghost Rider will be joining the MCU with their own Netflix series. Blade and Ghost Rider are no strangers to the MCU having already made appearances, The Blade Trilogy starring Wesley Snipes and Ghost Rider 1 and 2 starring Nicholas Cage. While both franchises were moderately successful they are a far cry from the Marvel Universe we know now. While Moon Knight has been around the comic universe since 1975, this would be his first appearance on screen. Coincidentally Moon Knight also fights crime on the streets of NYC, perhaps we will see him make a cameo appearance in some form in the Defenders series.
