Netflix Exclusive Deal With Disney Kicks Off This Summer

Netflix have announced that from September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive US pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar.

Netflix already has a wide selection of classic Disney movies and Marvel movies, while we don’t know exactly what films will be added after September, but the addition of Lucasfilm does mean Star Wars and Indiana Jones are likely.

Movies will still be released on Netflix, after cinema, home video and digital releases have passed, so expect a similar timescale to when movies become available to HBO, Starz, and other paid TV networks, which should speed up how quickly new movies become available. With Netflix being the exclusive streaming service, this means other services like Amazon Prime, Hulu etc, won’t have access to Disney’s movies.
