“Main Street Cinema: My Journeys With Duffy” Store Opens At Hong Kong Disneyland

Disney have announced details on some merchandise store, featuring Duffy, called Main Street Cinema: My Journeys With Duffy.

(HONG KONG, July 26, 2016) – Fans of Duffy can immerse themselves in the world of the Disney Bears this summer at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort thanks to new resort-wide Duffy-themed experiences, including new merchandise, food and beverages, imaging services and themed hotel rooms.

Hong Kong Disneyland is drawing guests into the adventures of Mickey and the Disney Bears with the opening of Hong Kong’s first Duffy-themed merchandise store – Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy. Set in the Main Street Cinema, the store showcases a film featuring Mickey, Duffy & Friends on their many travels around the world together. One of Duffy’s newest friends, Gelatoni the cat artist, a lover of paintings, will make his debut appearance in Hong Kong as he joins character greetings in the new store.

“Introduced to Hong Kong Disneyland in 2010, Duffy has quickly gained a strong fan base along with his best friend ShellieMay in 2014 and we are now pleased that Gelatoni is making his debut in Hong Kong,” said Mariam Im, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “Having a store dedicated to the beloved trio, complete with a candid movie theme, movie stills and character greetings is certainly a dream come true for fans of the Disney Bears. We’re also delighted to work with Fujifilm and pictureAir to introduce an enhanced imaging service that lets guests capture photos of their magical moments to take home.”

Start the journey with Duffy & Friends at the new cinema-themed store

Decorated with elements from a turn-of-the-century cinema featuring the whimsical film “My Journeys with Duffy,” the new store Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy opened on July 8. Guests can browse exclusive merchandise and enjoy unique photo moments with Duffy & Friends in the store’s designated photo area. Themed instant photo printers and photo films that feature Duffy & Friends were developed specially for Hong Kong Disneyland by Fujifilm, the presenter of Duffy & Friends’ meet and greet location. The instant photo printer paired with the Disney Bears themed photo films are ideal keepsakes.

The new themed instant photo printers and photo films will be launched by the end of July.

New PhotoPass app makes for easy photo downloads

Viewing and buying photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers is now much easier thanks to the new Hong Kong Disney PhotoPass app launched on July 6. Developed by pictureAir for Hong Kong Disneyland, the app enables instant photo previews after scanning the QR code of a Disney PhotoPass Card, which identifies unique individual photos. Guests can also instantly purchase individual photos on the app using a credit card without having to visit a designated photo sale location. The “Disney PhotoPass Plus” package (HK$398) lets guests download digital copies of all their photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers during the park visit. When guests view their pictures taken at Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy in the app, guests can see their photos already decorated in various Duffy and ShellieMay borders!

With a dazzling array of 230 Duffy, ShellieMay and Gelatoni souvenir items ranging from plush toys to stationery, accessories, handbags and attire, fans of the Disney Bears will be able to shop to their heart’s content and expand their personal collections. Among the offerings will be more than 20 items available only at Hong Kong Disneyland, set to be unveiled this year.

Special offers and enticing Duffy and ShellieMay-themed food and beverage options

A special Main Street Duffy’s Afternoon Tea Set served at “Main Street Corner Cafe hosted by Coca-Cola®” makes for a great mid-afternoon escape from the summer heat. The dainty and colorful menu items are as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. In addition, from now until August 31, guests who spend HK$400 or more at Corner Cafe will receive a special beverage upon presenting a receipt from the Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy. Guests who present a receipt from Corner Cafe can also receive a 10% discount on purchases of HK$400 or above when shopping at the new Duffy-themed merchandise store!

Themed hotel rooms complete the cozy experience

From now until September 30, guests can opt for the “Duffy & ShellieMay” Room Decoration (HK$600) package to complete their themed experience by having the rooms embellished with a Duffy-themed door sticker, window stickers and bed runner at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. The themed Macaroon Set that is also part of the package will surely bring guests the sweetest of dreams.
