First Ever Mickey Mouse Attraction Coming to Disney World
The first ever Mickey Mouse themed attraction is coming to Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World!
The brand new attraction will be called “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway” inspired by the Mickey Mouse Shorts! This attraction will take guests through the movie screen and into the wacky and unpredictable world of the the shorts.Awesome transformations and amazing special effects will turn this attraction into something like never before!
MMRR as i will shorten it for now has teamed up with the people at Disney Telelvision Animation to bring this attraction to life. There will be a new story and a catchy theme song featuring a new experience called “2 1/2 D.” This will mean you will not need 3D glasses for this ride. Imagineer Kevin R. stated that new tech is being created in order to bring the flat world of the short intoa new world of “Dimensional Display of Amazingness.”
“This is one of the boldest…most impossible things I’ve ever worked on in almost 40 years of being an Imagineer. And you know what? That’s what I love about it. Well, that, and Mickey,” Kevin said. “This is not going to be a small attraction, it’s going to be game-changing.”
Unfortunately i have to bear the bad news, which is that in order to make room for this new attraction the Great Movie Ride has to close it doors. As a huge movie buff, this was my favorite attraction on property and while i hate to see it go, i know its time. The Great Movie Ride will have its last run on August 13th and i will be there for its final day.
