Disney Infinity 3.0 Live Twitch Toy Box TV Show #2 Recap

Disney hosted their second live Twitch episode of Toy Box Tv today. Presented as per usual, by John Vignocchi and Allison Petrek, the team took many questions sent in by the community via various facets which include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and email.

Toy Box TV live is set to be a weekly event, and always airs every Friday at 11Am pacific time on the Disney Twitch channel. Future episodes promise to include exclusive reveals, new 3.0 power discs, special guests, and new figures.

Here are some highlights and take aways from this weeks show…

• Allison was late to the live stream because she was filming a commercial for DI called “speaking infinity,” where she interviews people from the community about the game.
• JV is prepping for a pre-E3 event for journalists to try 3.o both in Santa Monica, California and London, England a few days later.
• Scott Slesinger talked about the social media moms blog event in Disney World Florida, where they took pictures of their free Mickey and Minnie figures all over the resort. Early reviews from the moms are that they love Star Wars, the new Disney Characters, and the lower price point. Only 200 of each of the Mickey and Minnie figures are out there now!
• Tyler and David came on to show some gameplay of the top five toy boxes from the puzzle challenge. They played Black Widow: Search of the Ancient Relics by Vasuri83, the top winner of the challenge. They had difficulty climbing a cliff, but after they showed this amazing toy box.
• Mightygitis won the toy box submit last year and they mentioned something interesting about her grand prize of being a towns person in the game. The picture she submitted for reference was of her in jeans holding a light saber.  Little did she know they were working on Star Wars, so it was perfect for the game.
• Allison may have revealed that there might be another Toy Box Submit buy saying “maybe they should reveal the mithygitis towns person at the toy box submit.” JV did say “if there ever were to be another toy box submit…” and David winked off camera which JV made sure to mention.
• Vault of Villains toy box had their toy box shown that was an epic maze, and at the end revealed an amazing box art of JV and Allison on toy box TV,  as well as some images of figures that they want for future Disney Infinity installments.
• Semerien’s Toy box was next. It is a cool top view toy box themed to Gravity Falls. You need to search for clues and objects that lead you to your final objective. Very cool Toy Box!
• JV mentions that the community came to his defense when someone was posting fake tweets that made it seem like he was confirming figures. He was very thankful that the community went to battle for him.
• Evilos, a great custom artist, visited JV recently, and they are working on a brand new secret project.
• Window’s Tomb, a toy box from Enrem was next. It is an awesome toy box where Black Widow uses her super jump to search for treasure in a dangerous jungle.
• JV wants to do a live stream with Allison, where he plays with people who are watching live on Twitch.
• Last toy box made by 7-the-great is called Darkness. It looks challenging but seems like a cool concept. I really like this one.
• JV talked about the Process of how figures make it into the game. They go through three key components: what makes good gameplay, they listen to the community, and they look at what partners they are working with and what their priorities are. The next step is a concept phase. Avalanche goes through pencil sketches as to what the proposed figures may look like. Then it goes into 3D rendering and 3D printing. They mentioned that these aren’t really meant to be toys, but collectable game pieces.

• They featured my question on the webcast….which is your new favorite female character in 3.0? JV said Leia, David said Minnie, Tyler said Leia as well, Emily said Mulan, and Allison said Ahsoka!
• There will be no level cap increase, but there will be class tabs that help specialize in combat or healing, inspired by MMOs (JV mentions some World of Warcraft classes, but doesn’t say World of Warcraft).
• They mention combos in battle and that gameplay is more in depth but will share at a later time.
• Star Wars Rebels…will there be a playset? They didn’t answer it at this time. Interesting…
• Will there be a new hall of heroes in Star Wars….Allison answers yes and its really cool and she can’t say more. Also the old hall of heroes is reestylized.
• Toy Box TV will continue to be on YouTube, but the Live twitch stream is a casual version on Fridays.
• There is a new toy box feature called a spline, you take an invisible path and draw it with a line and program a character to follow a certain path. You can also place the camera on it as well so it will make the toy box potential much better.
• JV mentioned a new music toy that shows music notes…no further detail mentioned.
