Vinylmation Vault – Star Wars with a Twist of Stitch
Continuing with the Star Wars themed Vinylmation Vault in honor of this year’s Star Wars Weekends I wanted to compare the Ying and Yang of Stitch in Star Wars Vinylmation. On one end we have Yoda Stitch and the other dark side of Emperor Stitch. These two characters are as far away in kind but both roles are perfect sides of Stitches personality.
Emperor Stitch comes from the Star Wars Disney Character set with Jedi Mickey by Maria Clapsis and was released in December of 2013. For as good as Stitch can be, he can be as evil as Emperor Palpatine and perhaps worse as he can reek havoc where ever he goes with out even trying. This incarnation of Emperor Palpatine in Stitch form is well done. The black robe looks great in stitch and stitches face has such a menacing face that might even make Lilo a little bit concerned. Though to be honest I can still see a little bit of stitches goodness in his sinister smile. It might be me but when I look at any of the Disney Characters playing an evil roll like, Pirates, Stormtroopers and so many more, I see a playful side of them and not the true character for their evilness.
And as the story goes “In a Galaxy Far, Far, Away” there is “Yoda Stitch”. Again this persona of Stitch is rather befitting to him as well for Stitch to be as he is wise and caring for all things good. I have always loved Yoda way back in 1977 where I first heard his voice, but to be honest Yoda’s voice reminds me of Grover, doesn’t he? This Version of Yoda in Vinyl form is one of my favorites and again it is the newer Mickey mold that really compliments the character being portrayed.
Whichever side you are on “Disney Good” or “Disney Evil” these two Stitch Versions are well worth collecting.
It makes sense that Yoda reminded you of Grover… same puppeteer.. 🙂
