A Look at Diamond Select’s Jack Skellington 16″ Coffin Doll
Sometimes, I get things in the mail to review that makes me take a step back and spend a bit of time simply admiring the beauty and quality of the piece. Such is the case with Diamond Select’s newest release of their Jack Skellington Coffin Doll, from the popular movie Nightmare Before Christmas.

First off, I would like to say that the likeness is really great. You would think that a simple design like Jack would be easy to re-create. However, I have seen quite a few toys over that years that attempt to do a lifelike recreation and fail. This doll is pretty spot on. I also appreciate the level of detail put into the clothing, which is all cloth and very well manufactured.
For being a “doll”, Jack does have some limited articulation, and his limbs do have some strength to them. I wouldn’t go so far as saying that he is fully pose-able, and I will be always displaying him with his stand for safe keeping. However, if done the right way, you can get some fun poses with him, as I did last night next to my fireplace.
The coffin itself is a heavy card stock design, so it itself isn’t necessarily display worthy, which might be my only downside to this product, as it is being billed as a coffin doll. However, the quality of Jack makes me want to overlook that, as I think he needs no accessory to be displayed with.
