Donald Duck #6 Comic Book Review
Issue 6 of the Donald Duck comic book series from IDW Publishing and picks up where #5 left off with Donald Duck’s transformation into the Duck Avenger.
The Diabolical Duck Avenger (Part 2 of 2) from originally printed in the Italian Topolino 707 in 1969, but this marks the first time its been in the USA. The story kicks off with Donald using his new found abilities to steal a mattress full of money from Uncle Scrooge, but once the police start to tighten their grip on trying to find the mysterious burglar, as you might expect, there is plenty of escapades leading to some fun at Gladstone’s expense. This is a nice little story and went in an entirely different direction to what I was suspecting, since I was thinking more Avengers or Darkwing Duck, than criminal. But a really great story and I enjoyed reading through it.
There is also a second story called Birthday Bugaboo from Donald Duck 169, 1976 and is another really good read with the nephews discovering a little puppy, which Donald isn’t happy about keeping. Once Donald discovers its a pedigree and worth a lot of money, he tries to track down the boys before getting into trouble, requiring the help of the nephews and puppy. With plenty of laughs along the way and a really fun story, this is a great addition to this issue.
There are a couple of variant covers for this comic book including a great cover featuring the Haunted Mansion.
Overall, Donald Duck #6 is a really enjoyable read for all Donald Duck and Disney fans, two really great stories that will keep both young and old fans happy. A great Donald Duck read.
