Disney Dream Treats Review

Disney have released their latest mobile app, Disney Dream Treats and following the success of other puzzle games, this one doesn’t mess with the formula, just tweaks it with a different theme.  One of the key differences to this game is the addition of taking photos of yourself and other players adds some humour and its a very addictive and enjoyable game.

For Disney fans who have visited the theme parks, many of the settings and treats are going to give a nostalgic feel to the game, being able to play in the different restaurants that are at the parks, getting a photo opportunity with a Disney character or grabbing Churros, Dole Whips and Mickey Ice Cream bars, is a lot of fun, but for those who haven’t been to the theme parks, it might not have the same appeal.  The added function of having your photo on screen can be a lot of fun sharing these through your social media, though it feels more like advertising the game and the parks once you get past how funny you look on screen once or twice.

It feels like a cross between Tsum Tsum and Free Fall, dragging a line between the same style blocks but having to go around obstacles etc.  Gameplay wise, its a lot of fun and easy to pick up and with over 100 levels to play through, there is plenty to keep you entertained, however like all Free to Play games, it comes with a catch, once you hit a certain level, you have to wait before playing the next level, if you use up your lives, you’ve got to wait.  Unless you want to pay for additional upgrades to get through a level or play again, while I understand the need for this payment system in these type of games, it can be very frustrating and costly.

Personally, once that “pay” message comes up, the game is shut down and I move onto another game (personally loving Star Wars Commander, Tsum Tsum and Free Fall), which also suffer from that same issue, but if you accept that as part of mobile gaming, there is plenty of fun to be had.

There is little doubt that Disney Dream Treats is aimed at previous visitors to the theme parks and its a free game to enjoy on mobile devices and is worth trying out as there is plenty of fun to be had and all for free, if you play smartly.

Disney Dream Treats is available for download now on iOs, Google, Windows and Amazon.
