Uncle Scrooge #8 Comic Book Review
IDW Publishing’s latest Uncle Scrooge #8 features 4 stories that are all new to the USA. Peril of Pandora’s Box from Dutch Donald Duck 33/2003 is the main story of the book, featuring Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck and the Nephews in Greece, when trouble finds them when Magic De Spell steals Pandora’s box and mayhem follows. This is a great story and it was great to see Donald Duck use his brains to outsmart Magic.
Sleep Tight from Italian Topolino 2922, 2011 is a quick one page story with the Beagle Boys, that has a funny punchline. The Doorman Doormat from Swedish Kalle Anka & C:o 15-16/2011 is a great story involving Donald Duck and Gyro Geargoose with his latest invention, a special door mat that cleans your shoes and chases away unwanted guests, which as you might expect, doesn’t end well! I really enjoyed this story, simple idea but with plenty of humour.
The Dashingest Dudebro from Dutch Donald Duck 44/1995 is another highlight of this comic book with a decent sized story involving Donald Duck trying to sell issues of a magazine, but when Uncle Scrooge needs to visit a war torn country to investigate his diamond mine, chaos follows. I really enjoyed this story and is worth checking out if your a Uncle Scrooge fan as he always comes out on top.
#8 is a great combination of two longer and two shorter stories, all of which bring plenty of humour to the reader, certainly worth checking out.
