Star Wars: The Force Awakens Comes To Starz

The premium cable network Starz has acquired the pay-TV rights to Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the US and it will be the last film to be included in their output deal with Disney since it came out at the end of 2015, which just fit into their contract.  Disney have signed a new contract with Netflix for access to movies released from 2016.  Starz have paid an estimated $17.5 million, as the deal is worked out from a percentage of a film’s box office.
