Details On Epcot’s Pixar Party Pin Trading Event
Disney have announced details on the upcoming Pixar Party Trading Event, which takes places August 26th to 27th, 2016 at World ShowPlace in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort. The event will celebrate 30 years of Pixar Animation Studios magic from theatrical film releases, beloved shorts, cherished stories from the Vault, and more.
Registration for this year’s pin trading event will take place on April 28th, 2016.
Disney have also announced some things to Know Before You Register:
- Introduced at last year’s event to ensure that all attendees have equal access to the trading boards, we will again provide each Pixar Party Trading Event attendee with vouchers to use for the trading board experience. Guests will have the opportunity to trade at the boards a designated number of times during the two-day event.
- As a reminder, it is also important to note that Walt Disney World Resort has updated park rules regarding items that may be brought into the theme parks. Guests should be aware of the restrictions on bags (including suitcases, backpacks, trailers, wagons) and folding chairs. Please carefully review the list of prohibited items and other park rules at. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-rules/.
- You are welcome to bring Vinylmation™ figures to trade with other Guests, however we will not sell Vinylmation™ figures nor offer Vinylmation™ trading activities at the event.

Disney event services did not learn their lesson from last year. When guests complain to managers and event planners in droves that they HATE the vouchers and it’s a flawed system, they should listen. People stood in front of the registration tables at the exit, ripped off their vouchers on their credentials, and cluttered them all over the floor in protest. Mark my words, this will be their absolute worst Epcot Pin Celebration in their 15 years. The theme alienates those who don’t collect Pixar. International guests and those traveling cross country for the event are discouraged because they are extremely limited on how much they can bring to trade and make their time & expense worth while. And event services has already driven away those disgusted with last year’s event and the attitude & lies spoken by the event services team and managers helping run the event. More of the bad is not the way to win people back over.
It isn’t surprising they didn’t listen to the droves of guests’ complaints. Perhaps writing a letter may have been taken seriously. A mass littering seems to be a silly and weak act of defiance that could only have been met with bemused disregard. Dumping one’s iced tea into world Showcase Lagoon might have been a better course of action. Something must be done to protect pin traders’ rights to equal trading board access. However, this doesn’t seem like the best course of action.
