May the 4th Highlight: Star Wars Pool Toys by Swimways
With today being National Star Wars Day (May the Fourth…. be with you. Get it???), a lot of companies are showcasing their new items from the Star Wars Universe. One of these companies is Swimways, who will be stocking the shelves this pool season with some fun themed toys. Let’s take a look at a few of them.
STAR WARS LIGHT-UP BEACH BALL
(SWIMWAYS/Approx. Retail Price: $6.99/Ages 3+/Available: Now)
There’s no escape from the Galactic Empire when the Star Wars Death Star Light-Up Beach Ball from SwimWays invades your pool! This inflatable beach ball looks like the infamous spacecraft from the Star Wars films. Impact-activated LED lights inside create a cool nighttime effect and show off the details of the Death Star graphics. Grab a few for your next Star Wars themed party – your guests will love it! Also makes a fun gift for the Star Wars collector. Includes (non-replaceable) button cell batteries. Sold individually.
STAR WARS NOODLE LIGHTSABER
(SWIMWAYS/Approx. Retail Price: $2.99/Ages 4+/Available: Now)
Wage an epic battle between good and evil with the SwimWays Star Wars Noodle Lightsaber! These pool noodle toys have lightsaber grips at the bottom and a foam noodle on top, so you can display your fighting skills in the water or on dry land. Choose from blue (Luke Skywalker), green (Yoda) or red (Darth Vader). Sold individually. Available at Target and Toys”R”Us.
STAR WARS MILLENNIUM FALCON RIDE-ON
(SWIMWAYS/Approx. Retail Price: $44.99/Ages 5+/Available: Now)
Blast through the pool just like Millennium Falcon co-pilots Han Solo and Chewbacca on the Star Wars Millennium Falcon Ride-On. This durable vinyl ride-on features 2 heavy-duty grab handles. Inflatable float is over 5 feet long! Actual inflated dimensions are 61 in. X 46 in. X 13 in. Available at Leslie’s Pool Supply.
Last week, the team from Swimways sent a few of the items for me to take a look at up close, with assistance from my Chewy and Yoda Fabrikations.
Right off the bat… unless you want an exercise in breathing, make sure you have an air pump. This Millennium Falcon Ride-On is HUGE. I tried to blow it up manually, but I had it maybe half blown up after 20 minutes. Luckily, I had a pump to help me finish.
It like the feature of the light with the Death Star Beach Ball, even though in the bright sunlight you can barely see it. This might be better off at a night-time pool party.
And there’s not much to say about pool noodles looking like light sabers… I can’t remember not using them as lightsabers in the past. Now they are just a little more official.
Looks like the Force will be with us in the pool this summer. Great job, Swimways.
