Yacht & Beach Club Resort Convention Center To Be Expanded

A new permit application has been filed with the South Florida Water Management District for a new expansion to the convention center at Walt Disney World’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort. The expansion will take place over the next two years and will expand the convention space by 25,000 square feet, giving Disney 100,000 square feet of space.

The application was submitted by the Reedy Creek Improvement District and also includes plans for additional parking at the Epcot Resorts Boulevard as the parking space north of the resort will be used for the expansion.

Work is expected to start next month and the project should be completed by Spring 2018.

There will also be room renovations taking place at the same time, beginning in January 2017 and lasting for about a year
