Marvel Women Of Power Pinball Review
Marvel have brought two new tables to the Zen Pinball platform (which includes Pinball FX & Marvel Pinball), as part of the Women of Power pack. One Table features the A-Force and sees the Black Widow take centre stage and the other table features the new team of “Champions”, with Ms Marvel Kamala Khan taking the lead.
I do think it is important that Marvel promote their strong female characters, and video games are a great way of getting Marvel fans more aware of these, be it including characters in other titles like LEGO, Puzzle Quest or Contest of Champions, or in their own separate add on, like this.
One thing that was instantly noticeable is the tables are improving with each new release, as they seem to be looking better with each release and I liked how they added a little story tied into them, makes them more more enjoyable. There is also some humour added to the Champions table, making it feel different to the A-Force table, which is always a bonus. Though it can get annoying after a while due to the repetitive nature of this type of game.
This latest addition was released on the morning of me heading away on vacation, so I managed to download the game on my Vita too, so was able to experience the game on two different platforms. The Vita version works best when it’s used long ways, I just found it much more easier to see and the button configuration works instantly when the Vita is turned. It’s great to see games developers offering cross-play like this and adds lots of value for money. This game does feel like a perfect pick and and play game, I’m just glad it’s not based on a free to play model!
I’ll happily say that I’m very much a casual pinball player, I’ll have a bash around for 10 to 20 minutes, especially if I’ve only got a limited amount of time to play a game, which is what I enjoy about this game. But if you want to master these tables and unlock everything, it should take some time to master.
If you’re a fan of Pinball or Marvel games, this one is a very easy recommendation, it’s fun and both tables are a lot of fun, if you’ve enjoyed other tables from Zen, then you should like these too.
Here is some gameplay videos of both tables in action:
Also in our recent Infinity & Beyond Podcast, I shared some of my thoughts on the tables:
Have you tried out these new tables yet?
