Disney sets Domestic and International Box Office Records
Thanks to Doctor Strange and Moana, The Walt Disney Studios has set a domestic industry record with $2,491.4 billion at the box office. Universal Studios previously held the record, thanks to their 2015 season with a $2.45 billion box office. For the first time in Disney’s history, they crossed the $4 billion mark overseas with $4,079.5 billion, topping Universal’s record of $4.44 billion. Disney has crossed these marks without the help of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which doesn’t premiere domestically until December 16th and internationally on December 14th.
At the time of writing, Moana had only been in theatres for a few days, so the animated film’s box office domination is sure to add more to both domestic and international totals. To this date, Disney studios have accumulated $6,570.9 billion internationally, slightly behind Universal with $6.89 billion. The latest Disney films follow a path of success in 2016, closing out a year that included Zootopia, The Jungle Book, Finding Dory, and Captain America: Civil War, all of which were critical and box office hits. If Disney maintains hype around Rogue One, it is highly likely they will surpass Universal internationally. Even Moana is still in early international stages and is expected to generate more revenue before the year closes.

Alice Through The Looking Glass! shame it didn’t made the same amount of money the first one did but still a wonderful movie. Finding Dory and The Jungle Book were wonderful and Doctor Strange, Moana and Rouge One looks amazing.
