Kingdom Hearts 3 & Marvel IP Coming In The Next Three Years
We’ve all been waiting details on when Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to be released, and it looks like we will have to wait a little bit longer and during a Financial Results briefing, Square Enix CEO, Yosuke Matsuda, shared a small bit of detail on the release of the game plus the unnamed Marvel IP game.
“This slide shows our release lineup for FY2017/3 as well as for FY2018/3 and beyond. We plan to launch each of these upcoming titles in the next three years or so.”
This means either of these titles could be released at any time between 2018 and 2020. A new trailer is expected to be seen at E3 for Kingdom Hearts but we’ve seen trailers before and no release date. There are also rumours that the game will be released unfinished, with updates coming later, which Square Enix has done with Final Fantasy XV. The company is following other large gaming companies in making games more of a “service” with additional DLC and micro transactions, though it’s unclear if these will be added to either of these games.
With Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 plus 2.8 collections being released his year, this might have to be enough to keep fans happy in the meantime.
