More Jungle Book Content Coming To Disney Magic Kingdoms

Gameloft hosted a livestream today, giving details on the next update to the mobile game, Disney Magic Kingdoms.   Luckily for us, the next update will bring more Jungle Book content into the game, including Baloo, King Louie and Shere Kahn plus attractions like Kaa’s Jungle Gym, the Jungle River Drift and Baloo’s Oasis.   There will also be some new concession stands, a new float, new land will open in Frontierland, which will feature a landmark attraction, Big Thunder Mountain.

And unlike the last couple of updates, these new additions won’t be tied to a limited time event, it will be available to everyone.  The new content will begin on Wednesday and roll out over the next few days.

My Take: The latest addition is a good move by Gameloft, following many different events, it isn’t a bad idea for them to give players a little bit of a break, while some players will want to storm ahead and unlock all the new content, not having a time limit does mean people can take a little longer if they desire and also allows newer players to get access to this, unlike events.   It’s just a shame they didn’t hold back the previously released Jungle Book content and release them all at the same time, similar to how they added Zootopia, but I’m looking forward to adding these characters to my roster soon, once I unlock Chief Bogo’s last few tokens!!

Improvements

First-Time User Experience Updates
Minor adjustments have been made to the tutorial quest-flow to create a smoother experience.
  • The “A Handy Man” quest is now easier to complete.
  • Woody is now easier to Welcome.
Displaying Item Rarity in Possible Rewards
The rarity of items in chests (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) is now displayed in the possible rewards section. Items are categorized and colored based on rarity.
Token Collection Pop-In (Right Side)
  • When collecting from the Kingdom, the token pop-in (right side) will only slide onto the screen when the player has completed collecting all of that specific type of token within the Kingdom.
  • The “Ready!” message will only appear when the whole character recipe is complete.
Rate Game Pop Up (iOS)
  • Updated the Apple rate game prompt to comply with Apple’s updates in iOS11.

Features

Enchanted Chest Repurchase
A new flow has been added when buying enchanted chests that will allow another chest to be purchased right afterwards.
Enchanted Chests – Adjustments as per Chinese Law
A new law has been introduced in China, prohibiting the direct sale of gacha items. In order to abide by this new law, Enchanted Chests are no longer available for direct purchase in China.
