Tangled The Series : Season 1 Soundtrack Review
Now that the first season of Tangled the Series has concluded this month, Walt Disney Records has released the soundtrack to the entire season from such lovable songs as Wind in my Hair to Ready as I’ll Ever Be from the season finale.
The songs in the television series were written and composed by the composer and lyricist from the original Tangled film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. Singers for this release include Mandy Moore, Jeremy Jordan, Danielle Brooks, Zachary Levi, Brennley Brown and Natasha Bedingfield who sings the closing credits of the series More of Me.
Tangled the Series hosts numerous songs that has the feel of the Renaissance era Disney films thanks to the influence of Alan Menken. My personal favorite is no doubt Let Me Make You Proud sung by Jeremy Jordan with its strong melodies and vocal range showing the progress of the character from good to evil through both the original song and its reprise.
My least favorite would have to be Friendship Song, it feels too much like a song from Disney Junior and does not fit in with the rest of the soundtrack. Brown is a talented young singer but this did not need to be in the series honestly.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: For any fan of Disney music, Disney Princesses or Tangled, this soundtrack is worth the 10$ price for 11 new songs from the highly popular animated series. The soundtrack can be purchased on ITunes, Spotify and Google.
