Disney Story Central Closing Down

Disney have announced they will be closing down its “Disney Story Central” app on February 28th 2019, however some ebook content will still be available after this date, but Disney is not guaranteeing this, since this is dependent on content being downloaded on your device and the application remaining compatible with your device’s operating system.

Disney Story Central is a cross-platform digital reading experience designed especially for kids and families by Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Here is the full shutdown calendar:

• 01/31/2019: In App purchases will no longer be available
• 01/31/2019: Auto-renew for current subscribers will end
• 01/31/2019: The application Disney Story Central will no longer be available for download
• 02/28/2019: Disney Story Central will no longer be a supported application or connect to the internet
• 03/01/2019: https://disneystorycentral.com will no longer be accessible

Disney is advising users that they need to spend any remaining tokens and download any purchased content to their device before the end of February.

The last day to download content is 02/28/2019 as Disney Story Central will no longer connect to the internet following this date. It is recommended that all content be opened following download to ensure a proper download has occurred. Please also avoid “Logging Out” of your Disney Story Central account prior to the sunset date to ensure content remains accessible.

If you are a subscriber who owns tokens, it is advised you cancel your subscription as soon as possible in order to redeem your tokens prior to 2/28/2019. Books accessed as a subscriber can NOT be retained on a device beyond 02/28/2019. Books accessed through tokens and marked with a “Disney D” MAY be retained on a device beyond 02/28/2019 although the duration that they remain accessible is unknown and dependent on how long the application remains compatible with the operating system of your device.

Disney will be unable to refund or credit virtual goods, tokens, starter packs, books, or other items purchased by or provided to you.

Subscriptions will no longer auto-renew after 01/31/2019. Once auto-renew has been turned off, your access to Disney Story Central will naturally end at the conclusion of its purchased duration.

Any users who have subscribed for a longer term auto-renewing subscription plan will need to reach out to Disney’s customer support.
