“The Greatest Showman” Soundtrack Tops The 2018 Album Charts

21st Century Fox had a massive success with their musical, The Greatest Showman in 2018 and it’s been revealed by BuzzAngle Music’s that the soundtrack was the top selling album of the year.

The soundtrack sold 1.3 million album sales throughout the year, outselling the second best selling album, “A Star Is Born”, which sold 525,000 albums.  The third best selling album of the year was Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods,” which sold 377,000 albums.  It was also the only album to sell more than a million copies.

However it should be noted that these sales don’t include streaming data, which is where the majority of people listen to music nowadays.  When streaming is included, the “Greatest Showman” slipped to fourth place behind Drake, Post Malone and XXXTentacion.   If you take away the physical sales, the “Greatest Showman”, didn’t make the top 25 albums of the year.
