WDW Dining Review: Nomad Lounge (Animal Kingdom)
While I was at Walt Disney World last month, my friend Adam and I, along with Leonard (my Porg buddy) swung by Nomad Lounge for lunch. Attached to Tiffins Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Nomad Lounge is a bar that also serves small plates of delicious food. I have been here a couple of times before, but always with a larger group of people. It was nice with it being just Adam and myself, as the bar can get crowded and noisy. With only having two of us there, it was easier to focus on what was important… friendship and food.
In addition to the food, which we will get to, Adam also had the Annapurna Zing, a specialty cocktail: Bombay Sapphire Gin, Passion Fruit Purée, Mint, Simple Syrup, and Lime Juice topped with Ginger Beer and a glowing Lotus Flower. It’s one of his favorite drinks at this bar. I think the glowing Lotus Flower is pretty awesome.
As far as the food in concerned, we both got a couple of dishes. I got the Smoked Pork Ribs and the Selection of Artisanal Cheeses. Adam got the Nomad Sliders and the Poutine. We’ve had these dishes, or variations of, before, and were pleased that they were as yummy as we remember them.
Aside from thinking the Pork Ribs were PORG Ribs, Leonard also had fun checking out the venue.
If you and your family are looking for a nice place to grab some tasty food and great drinks, check out Nomad Lounge. We sat inside at one of the tables, but they have an outside porch filled with seating that overlooks Discovery River between Discovery Island and Pandora- The World of Avatar. It’s a kid-friendly establishment, and every time we have been there, it’s been busy with a lot of groups and families. Seating is first come, first serve. Reservations not available, and they do not accept any Disney Dining Plans.
One more thing to highlight here at Animal Kingdom while I have you all here. While we were in the park, Adam picked up the Simba Popcorn Bucket. While the bucket itself is a bit outlandish and hard to really carry around, it does make for some fun photos. Here is Adam with the bucket.
Have you ever dined at Nomad Lounge? If you have, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the place in the comments below.
