A Few Disney Store Stores Closed Permanently: United States, England, Scotland (UPDATED)
While some Disney Stores remain closed, as part of a previously announced phased reopening, three locations will remain shuttered. Those locations are in Dawsonville, Georgia, Mishawaka, Indiana, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Romford, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland.
Asked for comment, a representative from Disney commented “In late May, we announced on the Parks blog that Disney Stores will begin a phased reopening of operations globally, beginning with a select number of stores in the United States, in addition to stores in Europe and Japan.” They continued that “Disney Store in Indiana is just closing because we decided not to renew the lease.”
The representative did not indicate the scale of closures in their response.
At a closed location in Pennsylvania, the South Bend Tribune newspaper reports that employees were notified that the closures were happening nationwide.
On a positive note, a new location opened this month in Derby, UK.
Signage at one location indicates that anyone who pre-purchased an item online should contact Guest Relations at 866-902-2798.

Indiana: University Park Mall
According to the South Bend Tribune newspaper, a location at Indiana’s University Park Mall will not reopen, with an employee saying that it was “part of other locations across the nation that would also not reopen.”
University Park Mall is located in the South Bend, Indiana’s suburb of Mishawaka.
DisKingdom has asked the mall to confirm.
Disney isn’t alone in their retail woes. Other stores that opened or expanded in University Park Mall in 1995 included Gymboree (which closed 1200 locations, and is now just a brand at The Children’s Place), RadioShack (which has survived multiple bankruptcies in recent years), department store L. S. Ayres (which was dissolved into Macy’s in 2006), and GAP (which is currently gambling on a 10-year deal with Kanye West.) That year, the mall also added Papyrus (all stores closed earlier this year) and Eddie Bauer (which closed many locations in 2009).
Scotland: The Gyle
On Twitter, there are reports of closures at The Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland. The closure has been confirmed by the mall’s website.
Northern Ireland: Foyleside Shopping Centre
This massive mall in Londonderry lost its location, recently.

Thanks, Aaron! It’s in our second article on the topic: http://diskingdom.com/2020/07/13/half-disney-stores-reopened/
There used to be a Disney Store at the Mall at World Trade Center in Manhattan NY. Sadly, That location closed. Because the mall was destroyed on September 11, 2001 when two airplanes crashed into the towers.
