Disney Store’s new Korean location opens
Despite Disney closing the vast majority of its retail outlets worldwide, the expansion of their “store-in-store” concepts continue. In South Korea, Disney has partnered with Hyundai Department Store to bring its merchandise to the public.
The first location is located in Pangyo, south of Seoul. Later this year it will open two more locations near the national capital, in Cheonho and Gimpo. “Up to” 10 stores will be open by the end of 2024, reports Korea Bizwire. Disney previously had pop-up stores in the country.
The store includes photo spots themed to Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Winnie the Pooh, among others.

The store also features a touring display of dioramas, perfect for selfies.
In April, the last Disney Store in France closed, outside of Disneyland Paris. Disney has been focusing largely on store-in-stores in the US (Target), Mexico (Liverpool), and the Middle East (Debenhams and Mothercare), though it’s also launched Australian pop-up stores, and last year one standalone store in Kuwait.
