Donald Duck Takes the Hot Ones Challenge

Ninety years in to his career, Donald Duck is celebrating with an appearance on the talk show circuit. Sean Evans booked him as a guest on Hot Ones, the popular chicken wing-and-hot sauce show.

Donald refuses anything like milk to cool him down, and as Mickey Mouse — who gave him a drive to the studio — waits on. He takes on a specially-made line of hot sauces: The Queen of Roasted Hearts, Powerline Shock Sauce, Malificent’s Fury, and Straight Out of Hades.

It’s rare that we get an appearance of animated characters on a live action program. It’s something usually associated with the Academy Awards. And after the brevity of D.I.Y. Duck, the official anniversary short, it’s great to see more use of the classic characters.
