Star Wars, Marvel, Disney highlights at Fan Expo Canada 2024
DisKingdom visited Fan Expo Canada yesterday, to see what Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel love was being shared. We’ve been sharing a number of posts from the event, but here’s some more highlights from panels and the show floor.
Attractions
Disney content featured in some of the smallest and the largest panels.
One of the founders of Nelvana discussed his incredible career in entertainment, creating what at one point was the largest independent animation studio in the world. One of their earliest projects was The Faithful Wookiee, a short film overseen by George Lucas. Director Clive Smith was in the audience, watching just two rows ahead of me.
A headline event for Agatha All Along saw Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, and producer Jac Shaeffer dish on stage about the upcoming release, in a 2600-person venue.
Costumes from Agatha All Along were given a spotlight at the Disney+ display, a recreation of The Witches’ Road. For close ups of the outfits, head over to What’sOnDisneyPlus.com.
Merch
RSVLTS has daily exclusives for Fan Expo Canada, in their first time at the convention. But instead, let’s take a second to admire this Powerline shirt.
Amazon shared a selection of highlights from their site:
HASBRO was focused mostly on hyping up Transformers One, but had a small display for Force N Telling Vader. It’s basically a digital take on the Magic Eight Ball, with audio answers to your yes or no questions. In previous years, the company had hosted multiple release announcement panels, including about Star Wars.
Bookstore Indigo showed off some swank Loungefly, including the Marvel Shine Wolverine Cosplay Mini Backpack. This is a new line for the company, not yet even on their website.
LEGO had a variety of displays and interactives, some of which were carry-overs from their San Diego Comic Con display. We’ve already covered their booth in detail, but here’s two more, a pixel art-like Speeder Bike Quadcopter and Yoda:
Watch brand Citizen showed off their line of watches, including Star Wars-inspired merch.
