UK, Australia, NZ: Westfield Malls Offer Frozen Activities, New Disney Store
The international Westfield mall chain has had enough success with Disney Store in Australia, that it’s brought the partnership to the northern hemisphere.
In 2023, for Disney’s 100th anniversary, a Disney Store pop-up shops toured ten Westfield malls in Australia, transforming into a larger store in 2024. Throughout 2025, the malls will have a string of promotions tied to Marvel, Frozen, and Cars; more on that in a second.
Last weekend, June 28, Westfield opened a “limited time retail destination,” a Disney Store at their Westfield White City shopping centre. The shop features exclusive Lilo & Stitch products, including towels, swimwear, and apparel. There was also an Elio photobooth.
It’s unclear how long the store will be open. Sara Gulliver, @themainstreetadventurer on Instagram, has said there’s “whispers” of a 12-month lease.
Back in Australia and New Zealand, Imagine the Magic will run at Westfield shopping centres from July 7 to 13. The Frozen-themed activity stations will offer crown making, friendship bracelet making, and snowflake decorating. More details on the websites of those malls.
Australians and New Zealanders can also enter to win a 2-night family trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, to see the World of Frozen. You can enter once-a-day until July 21.
Westfield Newmarket in Auckland also has a rooftop Character Quest, in their The Atrium dining area, complete with glittering lights. Children who find five characters can get a poster from the mall’s customer service desk.
In March, nine Westfield malls in Australia gave out candy apples to promote Disney Snow White.
Disney and Westfield was recently renewed their partnership for three years, recently.
Westfield has additional shopping centres in Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. No word on whether the Disney magic will be extended to any of the other countries. Both Westfield malls in the UK are in London: one in Shepherd’s Bush, and one in Stratford City, East London.
At least five of the California Disney Stores that closed in 2021 were in Westfield-owned malls. Target licenses the Disney Store brand in the US, so it’s unlikely American shoppers will see an equivalent partnership in that country, any time soon. That said, Westfield Century City in Los Angeles did have an amazing looking photo op of Snow White’s cottage in March.
