Quarter-Million Dollar DuckTales Collection Toured

In its time, the original DuckTales was big.  Disney put the full force of its marketing jugernaut behind the program, licensing images of the characters to hundreds or thousands of projects.

New YouTube channel Killer Carp, who specializes in 1980s and 1990s nostalgia, found a deep collection of this merch with an unlikely collector: his pre-school teacher’s husband.

Pancake syrup, party candles, comics, classroom Valentine’s cards, postage stamps, and a whole box of puzzles. He’s even got a Trivial Pursuit card pulled out of the larger set, asking what club Uncle Scrooge is a member of.

At one point, the teacher asks “how come I didn’t know about this?” Indeed, it’s off-putting that so much of the collection is kept in the garage, when it’s paper and thin plastic, two things vulnerable to swings of humidity and temperature. He’s clearly put a lot of time and money into finding rarities, and I can appreciate that not everything can be on display, but please, bring it inside!
