Disney Infinity Ceases Production
Disney have just made a shocking announcement, Disney Infinity will be discontinuing.
Here is the full announcement:
By now you may have heard the news that we have made the difficult decision to discontinue production of Disney Infinity. From the beginning, Disney Infinity was built for you—our fans—and I wanted to take a moment to thank you not just for your support over the years, but for creating a community that made Disney Infinity more than just a game.
Our goal for Disney Infinity was to bring the best of Disney storytelling to life in homes around the world, and with your support we accomplished that. We hope you had as much fun playing the game as we had making it.
So what’s next for Disney Infinity? We have two final retail releases coming, including three new characters from Alice Through the Looking Glass later this month, and the Finding Dory Play Set launching in June.
And as we turn to the next chapter in our story, I want to thank everyone who helped bring Disney Infinity to life, particularly Disney’s Glendale-based production and publishing teams, our external development partners, and of course the incredible Avalanche team for their tireless dedication to this project.
But most of all, I want to again thank you for making Disney Infinity a part of your lives—and for adding to the Disney legacy by being a part of this community.
We will be bringing more updates as we learn of this shocking development.

All the Money we’ve put into this for what? Thanks for nothing Disney! Lego Dimensions is a way better Game anyways!!
Thanks for nothing Disney! All the Money we’ve put into this and no Little Mermaid or any other great Movies or shows! How can You do this? Lego Dinensions is ten times a better Game anyways!!
I’m surprised at this, they seemed to have been very popular.
Personally I bought the game when it first came out plus a few play sets, etc. Then when the 2nd edition came out so soon after the 1st I was a bit frustrated that I’d spent so much money and it was already out of date. I wonder if they released too much too soon that people couldn’t keep up, it was too much to spend so quickly. I have not bought 2.0 or 3.0, I recently bought Lego Dimensions which I actually find more enjoyable and can’t afford both. Plus, maybe it’s all just too expensive and it’s put parents off buying it for their kids. Whatever the reason it’s a shame as there’s obviously so many more possibilities for Disney brands that could have been included.
I really enjoyed the character designs, and I will miss the possibilities. Truly sad for the game’s developers, designers, and everyone else who was involved in bringing this to us. With the presentations and other videos, we were able to see the joy and commitment that so many people brought to this game.
