While Border Fine Arts Studios are very well known for their Disney figures, they have just announced their first ever Marvel themed figure and its Iron Man. Priced at £595 and with a limited edition size of just 500, here are the details:

Billionaire genius Tony Stark saved his own life by designing a life-sustaining shell: the hi-tech, solar-powered armour that transformed him into the Invincible Iron Man! Constantly revamping and improving his suits of armour through the years to meet new adversaries and environmental conditions, Tony Stark is a modern man of science and technology, yet also an old-world man of integrity and discipline.
When the possibility of creating this new Marvel collection came about, we welcomed it, and the European division of Disney has been steadfast in their support and critical acclaim of our first limited edition in the collection, Iron Man. Producing such high-quality, intricate pieces has been a lengthy and painstaking process right from the outset, with the concepts for the figurine requiring approval by Disney before beginning the sculpting which took Peter Mook over 200 hours to complete, working alongside Ray Ayres and his design team. Before the finished sculpt was submitted to Disney for final production approval, the same procedure was followed to ensure the accuracy of the painting detail. Produced in a limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide, each piece comes with its own individually numbered certificate of authenticity and is entirely handmade by the highly-skilled craftspeople in our Langholm studios — every figurine is hand cast in a complex system of custom-made moulds before being demoulded and prepared for the painting process, which can take one of our accomplished painters around five hours to complete for each piece.
From his first appearance in Marvel Comics’ Tales of Suspense#39, Iron Man has become the iconic character of super hero status he is famed for today, and is a fitting launch piece for this prestigious new collection.
