REVIEW: Elsa Mini Bust by Grand Jester Studios
I am back with another review for you. This review we will take a look at Grand Jester Studios Elsa Mini Bust. Before we get into the review I wanted to correct one thing from my review on the Anna Mini Bust, which you can view here. In the review I mentioned that Anna wasn’t numbered on the bottom base. The reason for this is because Anna and Elsa are open edition. Now that we have that out of the way let’s get to the review!
Packaging 2.5/5
Elsa comes packed just like Anna. A black box with the Walt Disney Showcase Collection logo on the front. The Grand Jester Studios logo on top. On the side is a back and white sticker with an image of the bust, the bust name, item number and UPC number. The box does it’s job of making sure Elsa arrives to you in one piece.
Sculpt 4/5
This was so close to being 5 stars, but there is one major thing that keeps it from that. First let’s look at everything that is done right. The face is spot on and the hair sculpt is beautifully done. The three snowflakes on the fingertips are done nicely. The details on the dress are very detailed and correct to the movie. The base is an amazingly detailed recreation of the mountain with Elsa’s Ice Palace. There are little trees along the sides of it too which is a nice touch. Now the big thing keeping this from 5 stars is that they didn’t give Elsa her cape. An essential piece that really shouldn’t be missing. Elsa stands a little above 7 inches tall.
Paint 5/5
The paint on Elsa is nicely done. There is no slop or uneven lines. The paint apps on the dress all cleanly done and accurate. The paint work on the face is great and the eyes are perfectly done. The hair is the correct color. It’s not overly white or silver and is not too blonde. The paint on the base is also well done.
Overall this is an amazing piece and if you are a fan of Frozen it’s a must have piece for your collection. It is a great companion piece to the Anna Mini bust.
