Vinylmation Vault – Star Wars 2-Pack Jawa & Droid

This week in honor of Star Wars Weekends at Disney Hollywood Studios we dig deep inside the Vault located in the Sand Crawler for one fantastic 2- pack set, the Jawa & R5-D4 released on June 13, 2014. These two characters easily recall fond memories of sitting in the Commack Movie Theater in NY watching Star Wars “A new Hope” for the 5th time in 1977. I can still vividly recall the Wonderful Music by John Williams and the Yellow Scrolling words drifting into the starry backdrop! This is why I love collecting Vinylmation so much.

With some Characters looking rather odd in the Mickey Mold the “Jawa: looks amazing. Yes I guess they of looked a bit more realistic if they were released as a Vinylmation 1 ½” junior but I am very happy he was released as a 3”. The adaptation from Character to Vinyl is nicely detailed with brown road an Ammo Strap (or what ever it is) across the chest. A nice touch on the ears are Tatooine’s twin suns Tatoo I and Tatoo II setting over the sand dunes.

Now what made me love Star Wars so much were the Droids. Droids! Droids! Droids! I am in Fan boy Heaven whenever Disney releases Droid Vinylmations. Strangely I have not collected the Jr. series as they really never caught on with me, but as I write this I have convinced myself that is finally time to collect them! Alright back to the other part of the 2 pack set, the R5-D4. Still playing in the background as a flashback to the movie I remember the part where the Jawa’s sell the R5 unit to Luke’s Uncle and I am saying to myself that “Hey you can’t split up C-3PO and R2-D2, they must remain together” but thankfully the R5 unit blew its Motivator and the rest was history. The detail of the R5 unit is amazing and just a 1st class job on taking this Droid from Screen to Vinyl. I do wish however, the it would of looked cool if on one of the Mickey Ears would have had smoke coming up after the R5 unit malfunctions. Lastly I would of loved if the Mickey head could of taken on an other shape that would of complimented the unique shape of the Droids head. Other from that I loved this 3” Droid!
