Disney Infinity Toy Box Summit Day 1 Live Blog

Disney Infinity is kicking off their Toy Box Summit in Disneyland and on day 1 here is a run down of what was included in the show:

Live Notes-

Disney Creative Minds Panel

  • Show goes live with Allison, JV and John Blackburn
  • 20 Artists – Will be a new community once a quarter on a conference call to discuss the game. First meeting is tomorrow to decide something for 2016

  • Jeff Bunker and Marvel team (Matt Fillbrandt, Bill Rosemann) are brought onto the show

  • Star Wars/Lucasfilm Executive Matt Fillbrandt and Inside Out Art Director Albert Lozano on the stream with the guys at Marvel.

  • A PS4 and a Darth Vader suitcase are given away to the audience
  • Team members from Avalanche, Sumo, and Ninja Theory are brought onto stage to discuss building Disney Infinity 3.0.
  • Studio Gobo are doing a presentation at another event.
  • Over 50 toys from Twilight of the Republic will go into the Toy Box.
  • Bosses from Rise of the Empire can be set up within the Toy Box including General Grievous.
  • King Candy in Villain form and Marshmallow from Frozen can be used within a Toy Box
  • Combat and Racing have been given major overhauls
  • Can replay missions within playsets.
  • R2 D2 Luggage give away and Evilos won a PS4!

Spotlight on Toy Box 3.0 Presentation

  • Bob Lowe (Senior Game Director), Troy Johnson (Game Designer), Patrick Efird (Associate Level Designer)
  • The hub is the new start of the toy box
  • Flynn’s does auto match up against other players
  • El Captaine theater will have all the top toy boxes and Toy Box TV in

  • Spine toy is going to make the toy boxes much more interesting as so many new options, can build traffic, different race tracks, cameras, cut scenes, moving platforms, moving vehicles.
  • Metronome Toy – can be used to create music and also a new music toy to create notes.
  • New fireworks cannon
  • Calendar Configuration – Can change a toy box to be different in October or Christmas.
  • Theme Changer – Can change a theme within the toy box
  • Context Text Configure –
  • Radar Marker – Sets up a ! or ? above a item
  • Dynamic Marker – Sets up a area to interact
  • Distance Checker – Tell the distance between two items.
  • Boss Battle – Create a boss battle
  • Logic – & – The use of an & option for logic
  • Vehicle Trick – Registers all tricks in vehicles
  • Player counter – Change options for players.
  • Sidekick Manager – control sidekicks
  • Radio Disney – Listen to Radio Disney live within the toy box
  • Power sphere – physical ball causes damage.
  • Gate, Wall, Cage and key – Boxes that drop or open when connected to logic
  • Tons more collectibles
  • Many of the existing toys have been improved including sounds, effects.
  • Text options have been changed, 10 lines and will auto go to the next line
  • Camera will now allow keep things on the screen at the same time, ie like Inside Out.
  • Mounts can now be made to stay in, can’t get out.
  • Power Disc items can now be linked to logic toys and used.
  • Visual links show where logic options are going.
  • 2D option has been added

 

Toy Box Showdown LIVE with the Toy Box Mentors

  • Toy Box Mentors start a challenge with words throwing in from the audience to make a toy box based on Cheese!

Becoming a Toy Box Artist Panel

  • Mighty Gitis, Sonic Photo and Pirate Steve join Papa Echo on the stage.
  • The toy box artists explain how they got into toy boxes and what they are looking forward to.

  •  Stacy Hinojosa. Jon Carnage and Will from DisneyInfinity TV join the stage, explain how they started.
