Photo Tour: The Boathouse at Disney Springs

Earlier this month, while at Walt Disney World, fellow DisKingdom reporter Joshua Pirtle and I hung out for a bit at Disney Springs, which is currently being transitioned from the old Downtown Disney. Once completed, the dining, shopping, and entertainment complex will more than double in size, with a lot of new and unique experiences. One of these experiences is The Boathouse, a new dining establishment which recently opened in The Landing area (formerly Pleasure Island).

A multi-room dining and drinking establishment, this place is very fine dining, with a raw bar, an outdoor lake-side bar, and a variety of up-scale menu items. Way too expensive for my tastes (at least during this past trip), but here is a review from our friends at WDW Magic, who were there on opening day.

What I have for you today are some photos that I took while Josh and I walked around in the hot afternoon. First up is a look at the inside.

Then we have a look at some of the fun items inside the gift shop, including the Boathouse Exclusive Mr. & Mrs. Quackcraft Rubba Ducks, which we highlighted recently from my visit to Sweet Suite.

After that, we went outside to first view the arrival of the Amphi-cars, which are one of the experiences that guests can pay to experience. What do the Amphi-cars do? They are both a car and a boat. Check it out.

Lastly, we took a stroll outside by the lake where, along with the outside bar, there is a boat museum, with some very fancy and unique looking boats.

Overall, I feel that The Boathouse is a wonderful addition to the new Disney Springs. With more exciting eateries and shops coming in the next couple of years, including the Indiana Jones- themed Hangar Bar and an NBA themed play-area, Disney Springs is poised to become a destination spot at Walt Disney World itself, instead of just a quick spot to shop at (like it has been for me in recent years).

Will you be visiting The Boathouse when you come to Walt Disney World next? What are your thoughts on Disney Springs? Let us know.
