Uncle Scrooge #6 Comic Book Review

Issue 6 of IDW Publishing’s Uncle Scrooge features 2 stories that haven’t been seen in the USA before, the main story is called “The Bigger Operator” from Italian Topolino 977 while the second story is called “Heights of Fear” from Dutch Donald Duck 34/2006.

“The Bigger Operator” is a really enjoyable story with a master criminal trying to outsmart and rob Uncle Scrooge’s money bin, but with the help of Donald Duck, we get a great story that’s lots of fun.

The second story, “Heights of Fear”, features Gyro Gearloose inventing some new growth liquid that makes people grow taller, I’ll be honest, this wasn’t a strong story since not only is this character not as well known but also, it just felt like it was missing that classic touch, but its still interesting to have stories with long lost characters.

I love the Country Bear Jamboree variant cover to represent the theme parks, that would make a great short series!

Overall, Uncle Scrooge #6 features a really enjoyable story that I went back and read twice, it is a classic story with Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck at their best, however the second story is slightly disappointing, its not a bad story but Gyro Gearloose hasn’t been a major Disney character for a reason.  It’s a nice touch, but maybe a bonus single page story or two would have made this book a little stronger.
