Ant Sized Street View Gives Brits an Insects View of Capital

Today sees Ant-Man released on DVD & Blu Ray in the UK and Marvel have launched a special interactive platform where users can see a “Ant” sized view of London’s landmarks, by shrinking users to roam the city’s street at pebble level.

With billions of ants wandering London streets, Marvel UK unveils a unique perspective to an insects’ every day journey in the capital to mark the DVD launch of Ant-Man. The ant view website looks up at some of the city’s best known sights, as an ant may see them, with many buildings towering into the sky.

Using a 360ᵒ miniature camera that sits centimeters off the ground, photographer Will Pearson has been commissioned to capture each setting from the point of view of Ant-Man, giving fans a taster of the #AntSizedStreetView interactive platform.

Ten different locations can be explored on www.antmanmovie.co.uk including Tower Bridge, Oxford Circus, the British Museum, St Paul’s and Nelson’s Column – which is 17,200 times larger than an average ant.

In the film, which is released on DVD today, Scott Lang is armed with a super-suit which has the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. Cat burglar Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Doctor Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.

Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. The new site gives an insight into the sheer scale of their task and gives Brits’ an insight into Langs world and allows them to see the capital as he does.
