Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Box Office Hit
The latest addition to the Star Wars movies hit the theaters a little over a week ago and it is breaking all kinds of box office records. $813.5 million worldwide as of today, Christmas Day. But we all know that a lot of people end up spending time at the movie theater today because they either do not celebrate the holiday or they just get bored. So the $813.5 million mark will be even higher tomorrow morning when Christmas Day totals are added to the ever growing numbers!
But I can tell you that this is that kind of movie that you can see several times and notice something new every time you see it. Right now at AMC theaters, you can get a new limited edition poster that is released every Sunday. There are a total of 4 posters that you can collect. I personally think this a must see for any Star Wars fan. The latest addition will not disappoint at all.
We are introduced to Rey, Finn, BB-8, Poe, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and re-introduced to a few of the characters that we have grown to love. Welcome back Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia, R2D2, C-3PO and the Millennium Falcon.
There are a lot of twist and turns as we are introduced to the ones who might just end up taking the place of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Leia. Especially as we see Han Solo killed by his evil son, Kylo Ren! We are left wondering what is going to happen when we see Rey try to hand Luke Skywalker his long lost lightsaber!
A few people took their chance with cameo appearances as well. Daniel Craig is the stormtrooper that Rey uses her mind powers on, Simon Pegg as the nasty Unkar Plutt who does not give Rey enough food for the goods she turns in and Billie Lourd is Carrie Fishers daughter who is seen by her side a few times as a member of the Resistance who has a similar, updated Carrie Fisher hairdstyle!
There are a lot of amazing scenes in this movie and I am sure that you and your family will fight over what is truly the favorite scene of all. I know for my family, we all agreed that when Rey and Finn take the freighter that is described as garbage might be one of the best parts for us. Adding a little old school in with the newest Star Wars characters! And it is pretty badass that it is a girl who takes the Millennium Falcon only to be boarded by Han Solo and Chewbacca!
Hope that you take the time to go and see Star Wars: The Force Awakens! It is a movie that is going to be loved by one and all. Whether you are a good guy or a bad guy, do not miss this movie! Go, see it with either your friends or family! Better yet, go see it by yourself! No reason to hide the fact that you are a true Star Wars fan!
And if you have the opportunity to see it in the larger IMAX format, I highly suggest you go and see it! My family and I saw it in the original 70mm format that parts of the movie was actually filmed in and it was amazing! I know that there are only 15 theaters worldwide that show it like this but I promise you will not be disappointed if you take the chance and see it like that!
