Star Wars: The Force Awakens Pinball Review

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens being one of the biggest movies of all time, tying in any video game with this franchise means it will no doubt be a success and Zen Pinballs latest addition lives up to previous packs.

There are two different tables included in the Force Awakens pack, one is set on the Jakku, featuring Rey, Finn and Poe and the other is set on a Star Destroyer in space with Kylo Ren, First Order Stormtroopers and Captain Phasma taking center stage.  One thing that comes straight to mind with both tables is they do look very different to one another, the brightness of Jakku’s background with the desert and crashed Star Destroyers contrasts well with the Space Station.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens pinball is out on Zen Pinball 2, Pinball FX2 and Star Wars Pinball and is on most platforms including Xbox One & 360, PC, Steam, PS4, PS3 & PS Vita for $4.99/€4,99/£3.99 for both tables, while mobile devices IOS and Android versions are $1.99/€1,79/£1.49.

For me, this price offers plenty of value for money, even if you played it just a couple of hours, that is cheaper than renting a movie.  I certainly had a lot of fun playing both tables and with a simple control method, it can be enjoyed by gamers of all ages.

With the added value of having Playstation cross-play, this is a perfect package for Playstation owners as I spent most of an afternoon playing the PS Vita version and being able to turn the console sideways to have a bigger screen, means this works much more effectively and had so much fun trying to improve my score.  Playing on the big screen on the PS4 allowed me to take in the detail of the board, Zen are masters at making digital pinball tables and know how to put lots of little touches that you might not notice on the first or second play.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Pinball does offer extremely good value for money, hours of entertainment and if you love digital pinball or just fancy a game to pick up and play, this is a recommended purchase.
