Casting of Marvel/Netflix’s Iron Fist Underway

Following news of Jessica Jones’ renewal and the possible Punisher spin-off comes an update on the fourth member of The Defenders.

Casting of the character Danny Rand/Iron Fist has began, due to make his debut either in his own show first or possibly in the team up series The Defenders (Made up of Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, whose own show is due to debut later in 2016, alongside Rand).

In the comics the character is a practitioner of martial arts and the wielder of a mystical force known as the Iron Fist, which allows him to summon and focus his chi.

It is currently unknown which shows will premiere in 2017, as Netflix and Marvel now have the options of Iron Fist, Jessica Jones season 2 and The Defenders, but there is the chance of all three screening in that period, according to Netflix Content Editor Ted Sarandos.
