Plans Filed For Expansion To ESPN Wide World Of Sports

New permits have been filed at the South Florida Water Management district by Disney for a new expansion to the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.  According to the plans, which were discovered by WDWMAGIC Forums member danlb_2000, the plans call for a new multi-story building located behind the Josten’s Center.  The expansion will add 286,000 sq ft of space, using a 179,000 sq ft footprint.  Currently the Josten’s Center is just 70,000 sq ft, so this is a big expansion to that building.

Also included in part of the plans is a new parking lot, which is located on the right hand side of the complex behind Jostens Center.

Disney is planning on using the complex more in the future, with the ESPN Wide World of Sport hosting the Night of Joy and 2016 Invictus Games.
