Captain Phasma Actress Confirms A Return For Star Wars: Episode VIII
If you felt we didn’t get enough Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, actress Gwendoline Christie confirmed while at the recent Screen Actor Guild awards that “I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that’s an exclusive, actually.”
Hopefully we get to see much more of the character in the next movie because while the character got lots of coverage pre-launch, Captain Phasma had very few scenes and many fans were disappointed.
The actress had been very vocal about taking part in the franchise, “I was very overexcited. I made no secret of the fact that I really campaigned for the part for a long time. And then I was delighted when J.J. Abrams wanted to have me in the film and then wanted to cast me in this role that had originally been designed for a man.”
Star Wars: Episode VIII is due out in December 2017.
Are you hoping we see some more of Captain Phasma in episode VIII?
