Star Wars: Commander Unveils New “Night Raids” Feature For Heroic Defense Challenges

Disney Interactive have announced some new details on the latest update to the hit mobile app, Star Wars Commander.

Here are the details:

Star Wars: Commander today added a new “Night Raids” feature, a unique twist on our Heroic Defense Challenge gameplay mode. This feature adds a 24-hour day/night cycle to each planet, complete with day-to-night visual updates for every environment in the game. With the new “Night Raids” feature, time of day within the game is synced to the player’s geographic location, and fans will have the opportunity to participate in two Heroic Defense challenges per day – one during the day and one during a “Night Raid.”

“Night Raids” is unlike anything we’ve seen in the combat strategy genre. It will give fans an entirely new way of playing Star Wars: Commander and developing base defense strategies.

During “Night Raids,” players can deploy all of their trained heroes and starships in the same defensive mission, which means Han, Luke, and Leia can be used to repel waves of enemies … all together.

In order to participate, players will need to build the new Scout Tower building on their bases. With this tower in place, players will get a notification when a “Night Raid” is imminent. Once players enter the game, they will have 30 minutes to accept the challenge and engage in the mission, or lose the opportunity to actively defend their bases and claim their rewards until next time.

“Night Raids” gives players a reason to focus on defensive base layouts beyond just PvP and enables them to actively defend their bases from incoming attacks. Along with unique Supply Crate rewards available for successful engagements, this feature adds a whole new level of gameplay to Star Wars: Commander.
