Upgrades to My Magic+ and Magic Bands Coming

After an estimated $2 Billion was spent on its original launch, Walt Disney World is set to move into phase 2 of the My Magic+ technology.

Rumours have surfaced that finally, after using your initial 3 pre-bookable fastpass+ attractions, you will now be able make your additional choices via the My Magic+ mobile app. It has long been thought that this option would become available.

Then the second, and most definitely the most exciting development, is that they will launch the storymaker part of the technology. This would entail attractions, rides and character meets reading your details from your magic band and effecting your experience. Say you meet talking Mickey Mouse in The Town Square Theater, you would scan your magic bands as you enter and that would then transfer your name to the Mickey Mouse technology so that he would say your name rather than just generic spiel that he currently uses.

Both these options were put on the back burner after the initial outlay was hugely inflated plus the reliabilty of the technology was in question.

Disney have yet to confirm whether this is going ahead but it is believed trials are already in place
