Marvel Seeking Solution to MCU Crossover Issues

Though all the fans have been demanding it, the opportunity for the TV side of the Universe to cross over to the movie side has yet to crop up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now from an interview with producer Nate Moore, it doesn’t seem to be a case of not wanting to do it on Marvel’s part, but more a case of timing.

During his discussion with IGN, Moore has this to say

“I think it’s possible for sure. It’s interesting that the TV timeline and the film timeline moves so differently because they tell stories so quickly because they have 10 to 22 episodes.”

He went on to add that what happens in the movies would end up dictating what would come in the future for the series.

“Sometimes it’s just hard for those things to line up perfectly, but we love that idea of ultimately, say, a Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Punisher, Agents of SHIELD… Maybe there’s a way to get ‘em back in there as long as it makes sense for our storytelling and doesn’t prohibit them from telling a story.”

The final quote talks about the issues they have with the movies being completed so far in advance that the actors would be portraying a future version of the characters and then have to return to the character before that movie is set, while also working around what the producers of the shows want the character paths to be.

“We say ‘Oh, this happened to Daredevil somewhere in the future’ and they go, ‘Well, that’s not what the TV show wants us to do.’ We don’t want that to start to feel like there’s friction so we haven’t figured out how to do it but we’d love to do it.”
