Following the recent announcement by Sony of the new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie, it is being reported that Michael Keaton is in early talks to join the movie as an unannounced villain.

Michael Keaton has previously played Batman in the Tim Burton movies and early rumours are that the villain could possibly be The Vulture.  It’s also unclear if this would be the main villain or just be a opening scene villain scene to set up Spider-Man, similar to how James Bond uses its opening scene.

The Vulture aka Adrian Toomes is a former electronics engineer who employs a special harness of his own design that allows him to fly and endows him with enhanced strength.  The Vulture is an older character who has used a device to steal other peoples youth to become younger, but it wears off with time.

Tom Holland will be playing Spider-Man and will appear in the next Marvel movie, Captain America: Civil War.  The Spider-Man: Homecoming movie will also feature Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and John Watts is directing, with John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein writing.
