Toys Invade WDW (May ’16)- Tsum Tsum, LEGO, Muppets Select, & Disney Infinity

Earlier this month, I went down to Walt Disney World for a whirlwind 48 hours. Why? Call me crazy. While I was down there, my hopes were to do more elaborate photo shoots with some Disney themed items that I brought with me. However, with it raining about 60% of the time I was there (my friends said i was the curse that brought the rain), what resulted was more of an edited down version. However, there are still some fun pictures to share. Here we go!

Diamond Select Toys’ Muppets Select Series 1

It was raining pretty steadily in the few hours I was at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so I had to make this group shot of DST’s Muppets Select Series 1 quick. As I was setting up the gang in front of the Muppets Courtyard Fountain, there were a lot of fun comments from kids and adults alike, loving the look of these guys.

Disney Infinity- Baloo

Sadly, about a week after Baloo and I had romp through some of Adventureland, Disney Infinity announced that it was shuttering. Some of the best moments I had with Disney Infinity were all of the fun WDW photo shoots over the years. Makes sense that my last one before DI ceases production was with one of my favorite Disney Classic characters.

LEGO Disney Minifigures

Right before I made the trek down to Walt Disney World, LEGO released in stores their first (in hopefully numerous) series of Disney Minifigures, which I reviewed here.

The last morning I was down at WDW, the weather was actually not rainy, but rather beautiful and clear. I made my way to the new “Hub Grass” area in front of Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom, where I was able to get a fun group shot.

Since I was there celebrating #48HoursinWDW, I decided to mark the occasion with the LEGO crew.

It was about then that I was discovered by other guests, who asked nicely if they could Snapchat photos of the Minifigures. So, if on May 5th you saw photos of these guys floating around on Snapchat… those were these guys.

Then, while back by The Little Mermaid themed ride in New Fantasyland, Ariel and Ursula paused for some shots.

Disney Tsum Tsum by JAKKS Pacific

My final group of shots involve one of my newer collecting obsessions: the Disney Tsum Tsum vinyl figures from JAKKS Pacific. I will admit that I am somewhat addicted. Back in January, I brought a bunch of the figures from Series 1 on a Magic Kingdom photo shoot. This time around, some Series 1 and Series 2 (including most of the Series 2 Mystery Stack Packs) made the trek with me. First up, a group shot in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

I then traversed some of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland with a bunch of the Tsum Tsum. I will say that I got a kick out of the fun reactions from the other guests, including this one family who I probably spent a good 15+ minutes with, showing the little kids (who were collectors themselves) all of the fun collectibles had in my backpack. If their parents are reading this, thank you for giving me a smile, and for raising your kids right.

Also, for the first time, I took the Tsum Tsum on a character Meet & Greet. I personally was iffy on it because of their size (Infinity and Vinylmation are quite a bit larger), but decided to try it with Anna and Elsa. Well, both of the Princesses (well, one Queen) loved interacting with their tiny selves, along with Olaf and Sven.

Well, that’s it for this round of WDW photo shoots. Between only being there for 48 hours and it raining most of the trip, I feel this trip can be put into the win column. Hopefully the next time I am down there I will be able to have better weather.

Thanks for bearing with me till the bear end. Y’all come back now, ya hear?
