New Luxary Disneyland Hotel Plans Submitted

A new Disney-themed hotel is set come to Disneyland as officials submit plans for their fourth hotel at the resort. The hotel is set to have 700 rooms and have a parking structure on 10 acres at 1401 Disneyland Drive, at the north end of the Downtown Disney parking lot. According to the OC Register, construction for the hotel is set to start in 2018 and is planed to open in 2021.

Currently the plan doesn’t have a theme but it will include an upscale rooftop restaurant which will allow for guest to watch Disneyland’s nightly fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle. There will also be two swimming pools, a fitness facility, concierge service and a kid’s play area. It is reported that the average nightly rate would be about $450.

“At this time, we’re getting about $35,000 in property tax from the Downtown Disney parking lot,” Councilwoman Lucille Kring said. “If the Disney luxury hotel is built, we will get multiple times the revenue for the city. …That’s entirely new income and we’re always trying to pay down our debt and provide more services for the residents…”
