Civil War II #3 Adds Another To The Death Toll
Although not the same gut punch that came from Captain America’s death at the tail end of the first Civil War, the big death that Marvel has been teasing for months now has occurred in the pages of Civil War II #3 today. Even more surprising is who is guilty of committing the crime. For those looking to avoid the spoiler and read the issue, do not go further. For the rest of you:
REPEAT WARNING — NO TURNING BACK
One of the founding members has been murdered by another member of the Avengers. Dr Bruce Banner, the Hulk himself, has been killed by Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye. In order to prevent a future that new Inhuman Ulysses had foreseen, a future where the Hulk had killed the Avengers, Barton put his own skills to good use and ended Banner’s life.
It was after a weighted confrontation regarding Banner’s experimenting on himself, when Barton took the shot. Now Banner had recently been cured of his Hulk persona, stating it has been over a year since his last transformation. This would call into question Barton’s decision to end Banner’s life. In court however, Barton claimed that Banner requested he do this.
Today, Marvel also revealed that their teased issues Accused and Fallen will spin out of this event; one on Banner’s life and death and the Accused focusing on Barton’s trial with Matthew Murdock as the Assistant DA.
