New FitBit Style MagicBands In Development
It looks like Disney have been working on some new FitBit style MagicBand, which is a small puck shape that could have some interchangeable strap or other accessories.
This new puck is basically just the centre of the MagicBand, and the smaller puck could help Disney reduce the amount of devices created with RFID chips as the straps could be available in either pre-made packaging or made “On Demand”, reducing the need to keep making the chips and would also help Disney reduce costs and technical information.
This development looks like it could be the second Generation of the MagicBand, and the new information was posted on the FCC system, which has a hold on some specific information that Disney has requested be kept private, and that embargo is set to be lifted on February 11th, 2017. No details have yet been confirmed about these new changes or when the roll-out of these second generation pucks could take place, but according to MagicBandCollectors.com, tests have already begun at Walt Disney World.
What do you think of this new style MagicBand?
